About East Coast Jumbos
Who We Are
The East Coast Jumbos is a not-for-profit athletic organization whose main goal is to provide a positive athletic and social experience for athletes with Autism and other developmental disabilities through the great sport of ice hockey.
Starting in 2007 with only five players, the Jumbos has grown to be the premier special hockey program in the Northeast. Jumbos now has over 50 athletes ranging in age from seven through adulthood. All ages and levels are welcome, and all players are encouraged and fostered to meet their goals and explore their potential.
The team also hopes to help participants grow and learn, build their confidence, increase communication skills, and develop and maintain relationships both inside and outside the hockey rink.
Joining the Jumbos
The Jumbos has a formal interest and review process for prospective coaches, volunteers and players. Please fill out the interete form below and a member of our team will reach out to you to follow up.
No walk-ons allowed, all players and coaches/volunteers must register with USA Hockey and fill out our form below to talk with Coach Ray about our program and process prior to taking to the ice.
